Embodiment

Awakening through the body.

We live in a society that is constructed to distract us.

In this technological era we find ourselves stuck in our heads, this can lead to stress, anxiety, frustration and depression.

To be embodied is to live in the body as well as the mind. When we inhabit our bodies we become present. We can use our senses to deepen our awareness and and become fully immersed in the present moment.

The primary tools I use to help you to awaken to your body are yoga, embodied movement practices, breathing techniques and dance.

Practice with me at THE HEARTH studio.

Kissed by the rain.

She was kissed by the rain.
It was a stolen kiss.
For she didn't mean
to be awoken.
She rested dormant
sleeping to her reality
and her bodily sensations.
She lay still and quiet.
The kiss when it touched her skin
made her vibrate.
Every cell in her body
exploding with pleasure.
"How dare the heavens
Kiss me in such a way,
wakening me
to my earthly body?
This body
Made of flesh and bones."
She was kissed by the rain,
And her life
was never again
the same.
